DAY 01 & 02

Anuradhapura

Welcome & pick up leave to Anuradhapura. Overnight stay in hotel at Anuradhapura. Next day After breakfast, you will take off to the city of Anuradhapura. On your way to Sigiriya, you will stop for a Jeep Safari in Minneriya National Park. Transfer to hotel at Sigiriya for your night stay.

Anuradhapura is one of the ancient capitals of Sri Lanka, famous for its well-preserved ruins of an ancient Sri Lankan civilization. The city, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was the centre of Theravada Buddhism for many centuries.

Minneriya National Park is a national park in North Central Province of Sri Lanka. The reason for declaring the area as national park is to protect the catchment of Minneriya tank and the wildlife of the surrounding area. Large numbers of Sri Lankan elephants are attracted to grass fields on the edges of the reservoir during the dry season. Elephants gathered here is numbering around 150-200, sometimes 700.

DAY 03

Sigiriya / Polonnaruwa

After breakfast you will visit for climb Sigiriya Lion Rock. After leave for village tour in Sigiriya. Then depart to Polonnaruwa for the tour on ancient city. Return to the hotel in Sigiriya for night stay.

Sigiriya is a one of UNESCO listed World Heritage Site for its best preserved ancient urban planning. The name refers to a site of historical and archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column of rock nearly 200 metres (660 ft) high.

Village Tour gives you a chance to experience traditional Sri Lanka with all its authenticity. Spend time with the villagers and understand village life. Engage in many village activities that form everyday life; such as an oxen cart ride, a catamaran ride and a walk through the fields. Learn to cook traditional Sri Lankan food.

Polonnaruwa is the second most ancient of Sri Lanka’s kingdoms. The ancient city of Polonnaruwa remains one of the best planned archaeological relic cities in the country, standing testimony to the discipline and greatness of the Kingdom’s first rulers and has been declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO.

DAY 04 & 05

Dambulla / Matale / Kandy / Pinnawala / Peradeniya

In the morning, you will be driven to the Kandy. On the way you will visit Dambulla Cave Temple. After leave to Spice Garden and Hindu Temple in Matele. Later in the day you will arrive to the Kandy. Transfer to hotel at Kandy for overnight stay.

Dambulla – one of UNESO World Heritage Site, is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The rock towers 160 m over the surrounding plains.There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding area. Major attractions are spread over five caves, which contain statues and paintings. There are a total of 153 Buddha statues, three statues of Sri Lankan kings and four statues of gods and goddesses.

Kandy is a major city located in the Central Province, Sri Lanka. It was the last capital of the ancient kings’ era of Sri Lanka. The city lies in the midst of hills in the Kandy plateau, which crosses an area of tropical plantations, mainly tea. Kandy is both an administrative and religious city and is also the capital of the Central Province. Kandy is the home of The Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa), one of the most sacred places of worship in the Buddhist world. It was declared a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1988.

The next morning, you will be taken to visit Elephant Orphanage in Pinnawala. After leave to Royal Botanical Gardens.  Then you will be taken to visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. Also known as Sri Dalada Maligawa, this golden roofed Temple houses the relic of Lord Buddha’s tooth.  And enjoy shopping excursion. Towards the evening you can enjoy an entertaining Kandyan cultural dance show.

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is an orphanage, nursery and captive breeding ground for wild Asian elephants located at Pinnawala village, 13 km (8.1 mi) northeast of Kegalle town. Pinnawala has the largest herd of captive elephants in the world. In 2011, there were 88 elephants, including 39 males and 49 females from 3 generations, living in Pinnawala.

Royal Botanical Gardens, Peradeniya. It attracts 2 million visitors annually. It is renowned for its collection of orchids. The garden includes more than 4000 species of plants, including orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees. 

DAY 06

Ella

The next day you will head towards the Ella, often described as ‘’lonely planet’’ and ‘’waterfall’’ is a congested town located in Sri Lanka. Ella is pure natural beauty, with its waterfalls, greenery, and hills it is just jaw-dropping. It has views that one hasn’t witnessed before, scenes one hasn’t seen before and nature one hasn’t felt before. Ella is the perfect place to go to if one wants to refresh the brain. It has many famous places and has been under the attention of tourist for a decent amount of time now.

En route, you will come across attractive waterfalls amongst the hills, carpets of emerald-green tea fields and tea factories. Upon reaching, check in hotel in Ella for overnight stay.

DAY 07

Udawalawe National Park

On day seven, you will depart for the Mirissa. On the way you will visit Udawalawa National Park for Safari. Check in to the hotel in Mirissa.

Udawalawe National Park lies on the boundary of Sabaragamuwa and Uva Provinces, in Sri Lanka. The national park was created to provide a sanctuary for wild animals displaced by the construction of the Udawalawe Reservoir on the Walawe River, as well as to protect the catchment of the reservoir. The reserve covers 30,821 hectares (119.00 sq mi) of land area. Udawalawe is an important habitat for water birds and Sri Lankan elephants. It is the third most visited park in the country.

DAY 08

Mirissa / Bentota

Early next morning take you on a whale watching tour in Mirissa. Thereafter leave for Bentota. En route visit for Boat Ride in Madu River and Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery. Once you check in to hotel in Bentota, you can relax on the beach for the rest of the day.

The Whale and Dolphin watching in Mirissa are one of the most thrilling water activities in Sri Lanka. The warm waters around Sri Lanka are ideal to spot blue whales, Bryde´s whales, sperm whales, fin whales, common dolphins, bottlenose dolphins and sometimes killer whales. Spinner dolphins, Risso’s dolphins, and striped dolphin can be seen too. 

 Madu Ganga is a shallow water body which enters the sea at Balapitiya. Together with the smaller Randombe Lake, to which it is connected by two narrow channels, it forms the Madu Ganga wetland. 

The Turtle Care Centre at Kosgoda is one of 18 turtle hatcheries along the southern coast of Sri Lanka. It is very popular as all five species of turtles that visit Sri Lanka nest in Kosgoda. 

Bentota is famed as the prime beach resort of the south-western and southern coastal belts of Sri Lanka. It has a long broad sandy beach, at its best during the October to April holiday season, with safe swimming – although red warning flags fly when currents are too strong. There are some fine beachside hotels, which also have swimming pools, as well as guest houses to suit all budgets close to the carefully planned developed area.

DAY 09
